To give an idea of the importance of medicine, consider the chaos that would ensue if for even one week no medical treatment could be given and no medicine could be taken by anyone.
This greatness of purpose and execution has attracted a significant number of opportunists who are exploiting the goodwill for their own purposes in myriad ways.
The exploitation and opportunism exist side-by-side with the true doctors, medicines and research and has increasingly taken over medicine with severe consequences for population health.
This book is about showing how that takeover has happened so individuals can make their own informed decisions and act from a much clearer understanding in relation to what is happening in medicine and therefore the world. The main mechanism used for this takeover has been what is referred to as evidence-based medicine. Evidence-based medicine has been misused to corrupt research, to provide unsuitable medicines on a large scale and to neuter and intimidate doctors.”
