Dr Christoph Schnelle is a medical researcher with a difference. He is independently funded.
Christoph has:
-
a PhD in Health Science and Medicine obtained in 2023,
-
a Masters in Biostatistics obtained in 2015,
-
written ten published peer-reviewed research papers as first author,
-
published The Global Catastrophe that is Evidence-Based Medicine and has another book in the works.
All of the above was accomplished whilst working full time as the principal adviser of an Australia wide financial planning practise, which he runs and co-owns together with his wife and life partner Nicola.
A big benefit of this arrangement is that Christoph can do medical research paying his own way and does not need to take the sensitivities or vested interest of any sponsor into account.

In his work as a financial adviser, Christoph has many doctors and medical professionals as clients. He also speaks to a large number of clients Australia wide in diverse industries, jobs and situations often doing insurance applications with them where extensive health questions are asked. Additionally, he is very widely read on local and global events through multiple mediums.

Christoph became increasingly aware of the catastrophic decline in population health such as the obesity epidemic, increased cancer incidences, diabetes and many other diseases increasing at a high level and the widespread abuses that happened during Covid-19.
Christoph shares:
Most medical doctors and other medical professionals are decent, caring and capable people able to support patients to not just manage their decline but to offer ways to improve their health, yet all this individual brilliance is not improving population health, which is getting worse at a rapid rate even after accounting for the ageing of the population.
Christoph’s research work is to outline ways for doctors and other healthcare professionals to get more insights and clarity about the situation and what they can do to remedy matters and support true population health, including their own.
His first book which is titled: “The Global Catastrophe that is Evidence-based Medicine” offers an in-depth look at evidence-based medicine, which, through imposed guidelines, is controlling much of doctors’ behaviour.
The book, whilst being well researched and containing 701 citations, is by no means dry and a great read that is both enjoyable and informative for all with some saying they could not put it down. It exposes the current exploitation of evidence-based medicine, what can be done about it and how we can empower doctors and turn around this decline in population health. This is a subject that concerns all of us.
